We arrived safely in Nairboi last night. Pastor Samson (one of the pastors that we're working with) and one of the guys that we're working with (Hesba) picked us up from the airport. We were obviously all ready to get a good night's sleep and frankly really ready to get off the plane, but spirits are high and everyone is doing well.
When we arrived at Jomo International Airport, I was reminded once again of how much we all have. It's humbling to see the conditions that a lot of people live in here in Kenya. While Nairobi is one of the more wealthy areas of Kenya, there is still a lot of poverty and the way of life here is radically different than that in the states.
Last night we were able to meet up with Lesle and Brittany, both of whom traveled over here last week with the group that went to Suday. Lesle and Brittany stayed here in Nairobi and worked with an orphanage and had some incredible stories to share about these kids and how the workers in this orphange really have saved these kids from a number of things (underage marriage, death, etc).
The group from Sudan will arrive later this afternoon to Nairobi and we'll begin our travel to Narok tomorrow morning. Today we'll be spending the day here in Nairobi.
It's pretty early in the morning here. Everyone is still asleep. We're staying in a guesthouse at the INternational Bible Society and we're really blessed to have such awesome accomodations.
Anyways, that was my random writing for the morning. We've got internet access here in Nairobi, so I'll try to interact on the blog later today. I dont have the ability to upload any pics so sorry...
Hope you're all doing well. Please pray for our group. Pray that God will be preparing the hearts of those who we'll be ministering to, and pray for our safety and the safety of the group that is traveling from Sudan. Thanks...
