16 Days

Hey Friends,
OK, officially I have 16 days until I leave for Kenya. I'm getting really excited about what God's going to do on this mission to Africa. I'm going to keep blogging regularly to keep all of you updated on what's happening with the trip and how you can pray, and specifically what you can pray while we're away.

I'm not sure that I've given the specifics on the trip, so here goes.

There are two groups going. The first group leaves on the 20th of June and will be going into Sudan and will be working with an orphanage and will be building a clinic while they are there. This is obviously a more dangerous area, but the work they are doing is vital to saving kids' lives, so continue to keep that group in your prayers. They've got some interesting travel arrangements to get into the country.

The second group (my group) leaves on the 25th and we'll be landing in Nairobi and will be traveling to Narok (a smaller village). There are numerous projects (I'll continue to give details) but the highlights are:
1-We'll be building two churches
2-We'll be digging a well for an orphanage
3-We'll be training pastors
4-A door has opened for us to teach AIDS awareness and abstinence training in the public schools. AIDS is the #1 killer on this continent, so training the next generation is vital to their survival.

How can you pray:
1-That Kenya's political unrest continues to stay at a 'settled down' point.
2-That our journey to Kenya is safe
3-Pray that God prepares the hearts of those we'll be ministering to in Africa
4-That God provides the resources we need for the various projects. (We still need about $2,000 to compete a few of the building projects).

Thanks for your prayers. Continue to visit for updates on the trip.
